About me

At a very young age, I was inspired by my grandfather who was a great admirer of photography. He encouraged me to learn the fundamentals of photography, which later led to my photojournalism studies at the art institute Alpes Eses in Santiago, Chile. Those years at the art institute strengthened my conviction to be a photographer for the rest of my life.

After my studies, I worked for two years as a staff photographer for La Tercera, the second largest daily newspaper in Chile. Later, I traveled through South and Central America working for different non-profit organizations. In 2000 I had the opportunity to move to Germany where I went back to school for a specialization in digital photography and lighting.

Since 2001 my work has extended to commercial photography, including corporate portraits and architecture, for both communications and advertising. My clients include well-known brands such as BBVA Group, Scotiabank, Nike, Walmart, Fiat and Alfa Romeo, and Thales Group.

While I still consider photography in 35mm film my greatest pleasure, for its quality and characteristics for aesthetic creativity, my professional work has been devoted almost exclusively to digital photography since 2002.

Today I live and work in San Jose, California, where I continue this photographic journey that is my life.

Photography is my time to relax. This is where I feel at peace, without stress, especially today, as the demands of modern life continue to accelerate and one often looses site of the simple things in life. In photography, I find another way to say the things I see and express what I feel. It is my way to help people who trust me. I hope to pass this love of photography to those around me and hopefully one day to my children.
